Biography

Dr. Michelle Dusseau is an Associate Lecturer of Communication at the Nicholson School, joining the faculty in 2005 after a career in social services. She integrates her desire for social equity and bridgebuilding change agency for positive relationship maintenance into every course she teaches. Her content area specialty is in Organizational and Interpersonal Communication, Communication and Gender Issues, Communication and the Family, Social Innovation and Activism, and Nonverbal Behavior. She is passionate about inclusive course design and has been awarded the sunshine state excellence designation for online teaching.
In addition to her work in the classroom and department, Dusseau is also the College of Sciences Faculty Fellow for Undergraduate Student Engagement, a Faculty Senator, and the Chair of the University Master Planning Committee. She has developed many training programs for UCF and is the lead facilitator for University wide Emotional Intelligence Training at UCF Human Resources.
Dusseau earned a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal and organizational communication and a master’s degree in corporate communication and technology, both from Rollins College. Her PhD is in Education, studying communication and motivational behaviors in higher education.
