Biography

Jennifer Sandoval (she, her, ella) is an Associate Professor and the Assistant Director of Inclusive Culture at the Nicholson School of Communication and Media at the University of Central Florida. She has a Ph.D. in Communication and Culture from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine School of Law. Dr. Sandoval brings her experience as a mediator, project manager, trainer, and consultant to the classroom and her research program at UCF. She is interested in the communication of marginalized identity in various contexts. Her research focuses on the communicative elements involved at the intersection of identity, the body, and health. Dr. Sandoval works with a wide range of organizations enhancing their capacity to communicate across difference and difficulty. Additionally, her scholarship examines policy language, structural inequity, and the use of narratives in moving change forward. She is currently the Interim Program Coordinator for the Ph.D. in Strategic Communication.
