Alumni Highlights

April 2009:

On April 23, the NSC Alumni Board hosted a Welcome Reception and Hall of Fame Awards ceremony at the Fairwinds Alumni Center. Almost 100 Alumni, Ad/PR professionals and faculty came out to mark the day and to discuss the exciting future of this rapidly growing department and industry. The Hall of Fame Award recipients were: Mick Lochridge ('74), Editor - Winter Park Magazine and Mike Hinn ('92), President of Knight. Both Mick and Mike had great stories to share of their time at UCF. The event was sponsored by the UCF Nicholson School of Communication Alumni chapter, the Florida Public Relations Association and Public Relation Society of America - Orlando chapters.

April 2009:

Christine Dellert, who was Journalism's Outstanding Graduate in 2006, now works for UCF News and Information and is a graduate student on the environmental politics track in the political science department. She presented collaborative research with Dr. Peter Jacques, "'Deep Anthropocentrism': Living Without Regard for Nature," to the Political Theory section at the 2009 meeting of the Florida Political Science Association on the UCF campus April 18.

July 2009:

Mr. Clay Newbill has been selected to receive the College of Sciences Professional Achievement Award. The award will be presented at the UCF Alumni Associations annual awards recognition ceremony, the Black and Gold Gala on Nov. 12.

Benjamin Jaffe, a recent R/TV graduate, is a full-time editor for UCFTV.
