When UCF asked students what they care about, undergraduates responded with a clear, unified voice - the environment and global climate change. UCF undergraduates are passionate about creating a just and sustainable future. This passion drives our curriculum and reflects the new General Education Program Unifying Theme: Global Climate Change.
The General Education Program (GEP) at UCF expands and enhances a broad range of academic skills to develop confident, prepared students who present a well-reasoned voice in our global community. The GEP Unifying Theme was created to focus discussion and reflection across a variety of intellectual experiences and conversations as well as curricular and extracurricular activities. Thus, the GEP Unifying Theme encourages UCF undergraduate students to engage in an interdisciplinary, academic discourse about Global Climate Change, potential solutions, and opportunities for direct student action. UCF students have chosen Global Climate Change as more than an academic topic-it's a cause to which they are deeply committed, and education is an important first step toward synergy at UCF with our environment.
The GEP Unifying Theme website gathers and organizes faculty-submitted resources and research for use in the Global Climate Change campus-wide initiative. Students and faculty can visit http://gep.ucf.edu/ to learn more about our general education program theme, find out about campus and community events, read articles, and conduct research for courses.
