Q: What is the GPA requirement for admission into the program?
A: Applicants must have a high GPA, typically a minimum of a "B" average. GPA requirements vary from semester to semester since acceptance is only granted to the highest averages.
Q:When can I take the grammar test?
A: The grammar test is available throughout the semester at the University Testing Center, Howard Phillips Hall, Room 106. Call 823-5109 for an appointment. Note: You do not have to take the grammar test if you got an A or better in ENC 1101 and 1102.
Q: How many chances do I get to pass this test?
A: If you do not pass, you may take ENC 2127 (Grammar and Composition) through the English Department and must pass with a "B" or better. You will earn credit for this course. If this course is not being offered, you may take ENC 3250 (Professional Writing).
Q: What are the deadlines to apply for admission to the R/TV Major?
A: October 1 to be admitted the next spring term; February 1 to be admitted the next summer term; July 1 to be admitted the next fall term.
Q: What should I have with me when I come to register?
A: If a course requires the permission of an instructor, be sure to have written confirmation of that with you when you come to the office. Also, be sure you have all the keycodes for the courses you want to take. Back-up classes should also be written down if the course you want to take is already full or has been canceled.
Q: When and where can I pick up my audit?
A: Audits can be picked up in NSC 143 between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.
Q: How do I find out what time I can register?
A: Your registration time is located in the Student Center page in MyUCF.
Q: What if I need an override to get into a class?
A: Overrides can be requested in the Nicholson Academic Student Services Center (NASSC), NSC 143 from 8a.m. to 4p.m.
Q: I haven't been accepted into the R/TV program yet. What upper level classes can I take?
A: You can take R/TV3007, R/TV3200, R/TV4403, and MMC3200, which are all part of the R/TV Core Courses. Note: ADV3008, PUR4000, VIC3001 and JOU3004 may also be taken by COM-PENDING students, but these are not core courses for the R/TV major.
Q: How many credit hours can I take per semester?
A: Up to 14 credit hours can be taken for the summer semester(s). Up to 17 hours of credit can be taken during the spring and fall terms.
