Journalism Admission

If you are admitted to the University, your acceptance will not constitute automatic admission to a major in Journalism in the Nicholson School of Communication. A separate application must be made to the School office. This application may be made once all requirements have been met.

If you plan to major in Journalism, you may apply for a School of Communication admission after the following minimum criteria have been met. However, admission is on a "space available" basis and meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee admission.

The GPA that is required for each program varies with the quantity of applicants. The larger the pool of applicants with high GPA's, the higher the cut off point. The GPA cut off level for acceptance for Fall 2006 was 3.34 for Journalism.
